Ceramic veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped ceramic materials that are custom made (for shape and color) to fit on an individual tooth. They are bonded onto the front teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating many dental conditions.
As with most dental restorations, veneers are not permanent and may someday need replacement. They are very durable and will last many years, giving you a beautiful long-lasting smile.
In most dental offices a porcelain veneer is made by a dental laboratory and is permanently cemented onto the tooth by your dentist after a one to two-week waiting period. During this time while the permanent veneer is being made, a plastic, temporary veneer is placed on the tooth to protect it.
In our practice, we use digital CAD/CAM technology to make the ceramic veneer in our office, while you wait. This eliminates the need for an uncomfortable, unstable temporary tooth covering. It also eliminates the need for an inconvenient, second office visit.
We take great pride in our success in making beautiful, natural-looking, long-lasting ceramic and porcelain veneers.
